About Role

For an MNC in New Delhi (Based in the corporate hubs of Okhla and Aerocity), a Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Operations is a critical mid-to-senior leadership bridge. This role focuses on translating global operational standards into local excellence, ensuring that the "India Unit" hits its efficiency and quality KPIs.


Job Description:

The DGM – Operations is responsible for the seamless execution of daily business processes, resource optimisation, and cost management. Reporting to the General Manager (GM) or Director of Operations, you will lead multiple functional heads to ensure the organisation scales sustainably.

• Heading the operations and back-end for the overall City and achieving business goals set by the organisation


• Overseeing the overall construction of interior projects assigned

• Lead and manage overall operations and profitability in accordance with the business goals of the firm

• Identifying the work front, required labour count and ensuring the timely execution and quality of each project

• Lead weekly project reviews to define critical success factors for specific clients and projects, and develop strategies and tactics to

achieve them while mitigating business risks.

• Ensure the quality of the service deliverable through strong QA/QC Review, hiring, training, and utilisation of staff, leveraging efforts to

maximise value for the firm.

• Participate in marketing activities to help develop proposals, project scopes, be responsible for the functions and operations of the

projects and will be the Principal-in-Charge on projects.

• Ensuring flawless and regular documentation for the management and clients

• Create and manage the office's operating budget,

• Improve processes and efficiencies through innovation.

• Execute on a wide variety of initiatives from broad sales strategies to tactical operational improvements

• Develop, document, and implement workflows to enhance organisational effectiveness

• Work with multiple stakeholders across the organisation (sales, human resources, marketing, product, finance, legal, and analytics) to

Recommend and implement changes to operations processes and reporting, utilising Salesforce and other tools

• Evaluation and implementation of new project management tools and technologies to improve workflows

• Responsibilities by functions: Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Quality Control, Organisational Leadership, PnL Management, Risk Management, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Quality Control

• Ensure Client Satisfaction: Holding regular interaction and review with clients, trade contractors, architects and project management

consultants & others to monitor & co-ordinate all phases of construction.

• Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Quality Standards at the project site with the Safety, Health, and Environment plan as per

standard norms and clients' requirements/expectations

• Monitoring Billing & Realisation of payments (both ways, external and internal)

• Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delay


Core Responsibility:
  • Operational Excellence: Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks in the service or production delivery chain.

  • P&L Support: Assist in budget planning and take full ownership of operational expenses (OPEX), driving year-on-year cost reductions.

  • Global Compliance: Ensure all local operations strictly adhere to the MNC’s global Quality Management Systems (QMS) and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the India operations team and global "Centres of Excellence" (CoEs) for process migrations or upgrades.

  • Team Transformation: Build a high-performance culture by coaching mid-level managers and overseeing large-scale workforce productivity.


Job Specification:
  • Location: New Delhi

  • Experience: 12–15 years of core operations experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Senior Manager or AGM role within an MNC.

  • Reporting To: General Manager – Operations or Country Head.

  • Salary Benchmarks (NCR):

    • Range: ₹30 Lakhs to ₹35 Lakhs (Fixed) + Performance Bonus + MNC Benefits (Stocks/LTI).

  • Industry Context: Highly valued in BPM/Shared Services, Logistics, or High-Tech Manufacturing.


Qualifications:
  • Education:

    • MBA/PGDM in Operations or General Management from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institute (e.g., IIM, MDI, FMS).

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Science depending on the specific industry.

  • Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP (Project Management Professional) is often a non-negotiable requirement for MNC DGMs.

  • Technical Literacy: Expert-level knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for operational reporting.


Essential Skills:
  • Analytical Decision-Making: Ability to crunch large datasets to identify operational trends and "at-risk" KPIs.

  • Matrix Navigation: Skill in influencing stakeholders across different time zones and cultural backgrounds without direct authority.

  • Change Management: Proven ability to lead teams through digital shifts, such as AI integration or ERP migrations.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactive identification of operational risks (supply chain breaks, labour issues, or tech downtimes).

  • Communication: Elite presentation skills to report India-unit performance to global leadership.
