In a Multinational Corporation (MNC) based in Mumbai, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) serves as a top-level C-suite strategist who aligns human capital with global business objectives. Unlike traditional HR roles, a CHRO in an MNC focuses on leading large-scale cultural transformations, navigating complex hybrid work models, and leveraging AI-driven people analytics to drive enterprise growth.
Job Description:
The CHRO will lead the organization’s global people strategy, reporting directly to the CEO. This role acts as a "Strategic Co-Pilot," ensuring the workforce is future-ready, inclusive, and agile enough to handle rapid market shifts.
Define and execute the global HR strategy aligned with business objectives.
Partner with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and leadership development.
Build programs to identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent and future leaders.
Establish robust succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
Drive continuous learning and skill development leveraging digital learning solutions.
Champion initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and inclusion.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration across global teams.
Serve as a cultural ambassador, ensuring the company is an employer of choice.
Oversee global HR operations including payroll, compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
Ensure adherence to labor laws and employment practices across regions.
Implement HR technology and analytics to drive data-driven decision making.
Design competitive compensation structures that drive performance and retention.
Continuously benchmark and update employee benefits to attract and retain top talent.
Lead HR transformation initiatives to align with evolving business needs.
Core Responsibility:
Strategic Workforce Planning: Forecast long-term talent needs and design organizational structures that promote global collaboration.
Cultural & Digital Transformation: Lead initiatives to embed digital tools (AI, HRIS) into the HR lifecycle and cultivate a high-performance, purpose-driven culture.
Global Talent Management: Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, specialized leadership development programs, and robust succession planning for the C-suite.
Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and CEO on critical matters such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and workforce-related risks.
DEI & ESG Leadership: Drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as a performance driver and align people strategies with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
Job Specification:
Location: Mumbai Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)
Experience: 15–20+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5–10 years in senior leadership within an MNC.
Salary: Upto ₹1.2 to ₹1.5 crore
Qualifications:
Mandatory Education: Master’s Degree (MBA/PGDM) in Human Resources or Business Management from a premier Tier-1 institute (e.g., XLRI, TISS, IIMs).
Certifications: Professional credentials like SHRM-SCP or SPHR are highly preferred for MNC roles.
Domain Expertise: Proven track record in managing multi-country workforces and expertise in Indian Labour Law (Factories Act, ID Act) for manufacturing-focused MNCs.
Essential Skills:
Business & Financial Acumen: Ability to read balance sheets, manage massive HR budgets, and prove the ROI of people initiatives to the CFO.
Data & Digital Literacy: Proficiency in using predictive analytics and AI-driven platforms to forecast attrition and skill gaps.
Authentic Leadership: High emotional intelligence (EQ) for coaching senior leaders and managing complex employee relations.
Change Management: Expertise in leading organizations through restructuring, M&As, or shifts to permanent hybrid work models.
Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional communication skills to present compelling talent narratives to global investors and the Board.
